As businesses struggle to refinance expired loans made before the recession, the truth of the adage, 'it's an ill wind that blows nobody any good', is once again proved. Insolvency and restructuring professionals are to get bonuses of an average £11,000, with specialist directors set to receive salary rises of 17.5% boosting their average pay to £117,500, says finance recruiter Marks Sattin. Executive consultant Shaila Verma says insolvency work is looking healthy because 'businesses with flawed models have clung on, thanks to finance secured when credit was readily available, and are only now having to face up to their problems.'
