It has been a jittery summer for EU policymakers. Tense talks in late July led to an agreement on a revised rescue package for Greece, just as brinkmanship across the Atlantic was raising fears of a US default. The hope will be for a calmer autumn; the worry of turbulence persisting through the next months. The Eurozone crisis remains at the centre of attention. Autumn will show whether the agreed measures will provide respite to Greece, as well as Ireland and Portugal. Negotiations on the legislative package for EU economic governance are expected to be concluded rapidly under the Polish EU Presidency. But with market pressure building on Spain and Italy, will it be enough to steer the Eurozone out of stormy waters?
