TAX-RELIEF CAP TO HARM DONATIONS

Eight out of 10 philanthropists say the proposed removal of tax-relief on charitable donations will drastically cut their giving. The Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) polled 200 wealthy donors, who on average donated over £50,000 and found 83% believed the Budget announcement to cap tax relief on donations at £50,000 or 25% of income from April 2013 would affect their charitable giving.
