CHANTREY VELLACOTT NAMES TAX DIRECTOR

Chantrey Vellacott has appointed Michael Smith as tax director. Leading a team of four tax consultants, Smith will work out of the firm's Colchester office in Balkeme Hill. Qualifying as a chartered tax adviser in 2005 and as an accountant in 2001, 35-year-old Smith's tax career began with PwC, before moving on to Kimberly-Clark, the consumer giant, where he was UK tax manager. He was most recently doing consultancy work. Dawn Lay-Flurrie, partner at Chantrey Vellacott, said: 'Smith's expertise will enhance our tax team in helping with the growth and adding value to any business, whether a sole trader, partnership, owner-managed or large multinational corporate.'
