SMALL FIRMS SLAM UNFAIR TAXMAN

A business group has slammed the taxman for chasing firms over late payment while large companies get away with billions in unpaid taxes. The Forum of Private Business has complained to the Treasury over HMRC's 'harassment and mistreatment' of small businesses, including steep fines for the slightest delay in tax bill payments as well as record errors and omissions, while agreeing 'sweetheart deals' with the UK's largest companies.
