MAJORITY OF WELSH LOCAL GOVERNMENT AUDITS QUALIFIED

The Wales Audit Office (WAO) has highlighted 'systemic weaknesses' in the audit reports provided by Welsh town and community councils, criticising the high number of qualified opinions over a wide range of issues. According to the report, around 60% of annual returns submitted for the 2012-13 period still required some form of amendment.
