摘要

The Consumer Rights Act 2015 came into force in October affecting all businesses that supply goods or services to a 'consumer' - an individual who is acting outside their trade, business, craft or profession. The existing statutory standards concerning the provision of services are maintained. This means that services must continue to be carried out with reasonable skill and care, within a reasonable time and for a reasonable price. However, the provider of services (the trader) will now be contractually liable for any statements it makes voluntarily (about the services or about the trader itself) and which are taken into account by the consumer either when deciding to enter into the contract or when making any subsequent decision about the services.
