CALL TO DELAY SIGNIFICANT CONTROL REGISTER RULES

The ICAEW is calling on the government to consider postponing some or all of its plans for a register of persons with significant control (PSC), due to be introduced later this year, so it can take into account new EU money laundering requirements and review the tough 28-day limit for individuals who want to extricate themselves from a PSC interest. The institute's comments are outlined in its response to a Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) summer consultation on the draft secondary regulations needed to set up the register. The legislation is set to be laid before parliament this autumn.
