My client is a lawyer acting in the administration and winding up of a deceased client's estate. The executor lives in Australia but part of the work involves the conveyancing and sale of the deceased's property in Cornwall. My client is going to send an interim invoice to the executor for the conveyancing part only now and the remaining fees will be invoiced when the estate is finally settled. Does my client have to charge VAT on the interim invoice?
