Former World Bank employees resident in the UK can now claim partial exemption from income tax on their pensions following a decision by the tax tribunal whereby a retired employee disputed his tax liabilities. In the case of Macklin v HM Revenue and Customs [(2015) UKUT 0039 (TCC) FTC/145/2013] the Upper Tribunal, which has equivalent status to the High Court, overruled an earlier decision by the First Tier Tribunal (FTT), delivered in October 2013.
