EXECUTING DOCUMENTS USING ELECTRONIC SIGNATURES

The Law Society and the City of London Law Society have published a practice note which gives guidance on the status of documents executed using electronic signatures. Over the past decade it has become common for documents to be signed and completed 'virtually'. This has generally involved 'wet ink' signatures on hard copy documents being scanned and sent by email.
