A former accountant to the stars has been given a jail sentence for defrauding celebrities, including singer Rita Ora, of at least £3.5m to fund a gambling addiction and luxury lifestyle. Andrew Munday, from Northamptonshire, used the money to buy houses, football and Star Wars memorabilia, high-end watches and an executive lounge membership at Tottenham Hotspur football club. Northampton Crown Court heard Munday had defrauded a string of clients, some of whom were high profile and in the public eye, while employed by Blue Cube Business Ltd. Munday, who admitted six counts of fraud and three counts of money laundering, was jailed for five years and eight months. In a victim statement, the singer VV Brown said Munday had ‘ruined a lot of people's lives’ and left ‘deep scars’ in relation to trust. Munday caused a loss to former X Factor judge Ora's company of nearly £2.4m, the court heard. He also stole £1.08m from Decidedly Dawson Ltd, the company of former England scrum-half and Question of Sport captain Matt Dawson.
