The business model is the heart of any company, providing it with purpose and direction. It is also the structure through which businesses unlock and drive value creation. It is therefore critical that it can be shaped to align with changing external and internal forces, while enabling a shared vision of how the organisation defines, creates, delivers and captures value. If companies fail to adapt, it leaves them vulnerable to competitors who can offer a better service built around customers' ever-changing needs.
