BackgroundRed blood cell (RBC) transfusions are associated with increased mortality and morbidity. The aim of this analysis was to examine the association between RBC transfusions and long-term survival for patients undergoing elective open infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repair with up to 15 years of follow-up.
