BackgroundX-linked retinoschisis is one of the more frequently encountered inherited macular retinal disorders affecting young males, causing loss of vision. Patients exhibit macular schisis and peripheral schisis, which can mimic retinal detachment, a very different entity that requires surgical intervention.
