IntroductionFreiberg’s infraction is an osteonecrosis affecting the metatarsal head whose pathogenesis is not fully understood, although stress overloading by multiple microtraumas remains the most widely accepted cause. Operative treatment, by different techniques, is necessary when conservative treatment fails.
