Opioid misuse, which frequently begins in adolescence, is a leading cause of unintentional injury and death among adolescents and young adults. While high rates of comorbid mood and anxiety disorders have been associated with opioid‐related problems (ORPs), studies have not examined treatments for these comorbid conditions, especially those that occur before the ORP diagnosis.
