摘要

The global outbreak of COVID-19 has not only led to a significant amount of deaths and morbidities directly related to coronavirus infection, but also has impacted other non-COVID conditions, resulting in hidden or deferred illnesses.1,2 Specifically, reduction in hospitalizations due to cardiovascular emergencies, such as acute myocardial infarction (MI) and acute aortic syndromes, has been reported during the COVID-19 pandemic.1-4 The widely announced social distancing policy and the fear of contagion in the hospital discouraged general population to seek medical attention, and are considered to be possible underlying reasons for the decline in hospitalization due to acute MI.1-4
