摘要

Triclosan (TCS) is a broad-spectrum antibacterial and anti-fungal agent used in a broadvariety of personal care products (PCPs) throughout the world. However, the molecularmechanism of TCS’s effects on the gill and ovary of fish is not clear. In this study, theeffects of TCS exposure on expression of antioxidant- and apoptosis-related genes wereinvestigated in the gill and ovary of zebrafish ( ). Zebrafishwere exposed to 0, 17, 34, or 68 g/l TCS for 42 days.Antioxidant-related genes ( , , , , and ) in the gillwere significantly downregulated in the 34 (except ) and 68 g/l TCS groups, and these genes (except ) in theovary were significantly downregulated in the 68 g/l TCS group.Apoptosis-related gene ( and ) expression level inthe gill were significantly downregulated in the 68 g/l TCS group, whilethe ratios of to and gene were significantly upregulated. The gene in the ovary wassignificantly upregulated in the 34 and 68 g/l TCS groups, while theratio of -2 to was significantly downregulated.Moreover, the gene in the ovary in the 34 g/l TCSgroup was significantly upregulated. In addition, the MDA contents in the gill in the 34and 68 g/l TCS treated groups and in the ovary in 68 μg/l group weresignificantly increased. The results showed that the higher dose of TCS might causeoxidative damage in the gills and ovaries and accelerate ROS-dependent ovary apoptosis inzebrafish.
