IL-33 induces immunosuppressive neutrophils via a type 2 innate lymphoid cell/IL-13/STAT6 axis and protects the liver against injury in LCMV infection-induced viral hepatitis

LCMV infection recruits neutrophils in the liver. Mice were i.v. injected with LCMV CL13 (2 × 10 pfu/each mouse) and were killed at 5, 9, 15 and 21 days postinfection (dpi). Uninfected mice were used as 0 dpi. Lymphocytes were isolated from the ( ) spleens and ( ) livers, followed by analysis using flow cytometry. ( ) Neutrophils were purified from the bone marrow, spleens and livers at different time points. The gene transcript levels of CXCL2, iNOS, Arg-1, and IL-10 were measured using real-time PCR. The data are shown as the means±s.e.m. of at least three mice per group from a single representative experiment. The experiment was repeated independently three times.
