BackgroundSchizotypy is a construct believed to capture the underlying genetic vulnerability to schizophrenia. However, few studies have investigated the genetic underpinnings of dimensional schizotypy and the closely related categorical diagnosis of schizotypal personality disorder. This is an exploratory case-control candidate gene association study examining the relationship between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and four schizotypy dimensions in a sample enriched for dimensional schizotypy and schizotypal personality disorder (SPD).
