摘要

Background:Decreased cortical excitability has been proposed as a potential mechanism underlying task failure during sustained muscular contractions, and cortical excitability may decrease with old age. We tested the hypothesis that transcranial direct current stimulation, which has been reported to raise cortical excitability, would prolong the time to task failure during a sustained muscular contraction in older adults.
