VITALNET: A Bedside Work Station for Medical/Surgical Nursing

The VITALNET System is a bedside data acquisition and data management system designed to improve the quality and productivity of nursing, and to provide physicians at the bedside patient status information. The System allows the bedside input and display of nursing notes, I/O, and automatically measures and records the vital signs. Data input to the system at the bedside is either by selection from screen menus and/or from the optional barcode wand. A computer and printer at nursing station collect the data and print reports.
