BackgroundWe assessed the diagnostic value of standard clinical methods and combined biomarker testing (galactomannan assay and polymerase chain reaction screening) in a prospective case–control study to detect invasive pulmonary aspergillosis in patients with hematological malignancies and prolonged neutropenia.
