BackgroundSurgical treatment of acetabular fractures is one of the greatest challenges for orthopedic surgeons. Fixation of most displaced fractures requires extensive exposure, which may lead to complications, including blood loss, neural or vascular injury, postoperative infection, wound healing problems, and heterotopic bone formation.
