Objective To investigate circulating endothelial progenitor cells(EPCs) counts in patients with depression, and explore the relationship between endothelial dysfunctions and depression status. Methods Peripheral blood samples were collected from patients with depression (n=30) and matched healthy subjects (n=30).EPCs were labeled with CD34,CD133 and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor- 2 (VEGFR2) antibodies and counted by flow cytometry. Results CD34+, CD34+/KDR+, CD133+/KDR+ and CD34+/CD133+/KDR+ EPC counts were decreased in patients with depression compared to controls (P< 0.05); and the CD34+, CD34+/CD133+/KDR+EPC levels were negatively correlated with HAMD scores of patients. Conclusion The circulating EPCs counts in patients with depression decrease and negatively correlated with the severity of depression.%目的 抑郁症患者外周血中循环内皮祖细胞(EPCs)数量的变化,探讨抑郁症患者血管内皮功能的改变及其与抑郁状态的关系.
