Customs statistics show that the total value of imports and exports in 2002 reached US$620.79 billion, 21.8% more than in the previous year. This includes US$325.57 billion in export, a growth of 22.3% and US$295.22 billion in import, a growth of 21.2%, leaving a favourable trade balance of US$30.35 billion.
