With the application and development of MapMatrix, especially its powerful function in data production, and the introduction of external point - line feature data, a set of practical DEM updating procedure has been designed. DEM productivity has been risen greatly. Making use of aerial photo control points and the height checkpoints acquired by field RTK survey, the precision of results is superior to urban geographical information system specifications based on 5m- grid DEM.
