This article employs the horizontal and vertical comparison between related indexes of patent output in the central region of China. It shows that the patent output in the central region of China has been increased rapidly and has a tendency to continuously go up since 2000. However, there is a big gap between patent output level and growth rate in the central region of China. Compared with the whole nation and eastern region, the patent output level and growth rate of central region are much lower. Therefore, in order to realize " middle rises" , the innovative awareness and consciousness of patent protection must be further enhanced and the independent innovation ability of the central region of China must be fully improved.%通过对中部六省相关专利产出指标的横向和纵向比较,发现2000年以来,中部六省的专利产出水平得到了迅速的提高,并呈不断上升的趋势；但是,中部六省之间的专利产出水平及其增长速度存在较大的差距,与全国和东部地区相比,中部六省的专利产出水平及其增长速度都较低.要实现中部地区崛起,必须加大科技人力资源和R&D经费投入,调动科研人员的创新积极性,进一步增强创新意识和专利保护意识,全面提高中部地区的自主创新能力.
