The recently published“FenglingJinYin封陵津印(Seal of the Fengling Ferry)”is a seal of the ofifcial in charge of the ferrying in the Qin Dynasty, which is closely related to the Fengling风陵Ferry, a famous ferry on the Yellow River. For the naming of the Fengling Ferry, Dai Zuo of the Western Jin Dynasty explained in his Xizheng Ji (Record on the Western Expedition) that because the mausoleum of Nüwa, who was the Goddess of Wind, was nearby there, this ferry was named as Fengling (feng 风means wind and ling陵means mausoleum) after that. However, this is only a fabricated fable appeared in the Western Jin Dynasty which could not be reliable. The discovery of the“Seal of the Fengling Ferry”proved that the name of Fengling Ferry封陵津had existed in the Qin Dynasty. The place name“Fengling封陵”is seen in the BasicAnnals of Qin of Shiji and the Biannian Ji (Chronicles) of the bamboo slips of the Qin Dynasty unearthed at Shuihudi in Hubei, and noted as in the territory of the Wei State of the Warring-States Period. The locations of the Fengling封陵and Fengling风陵Ferry described in the ancient historic literatures were almost overlapping each other, and the feng 封 and feng 风 were homophones, and therefore they were actually the same place whose name was written differently. The discovery of this seal conifrmed that the real origin of the name of Fengling风陵Ferry was that of the Fengling封陵Town of the annexed Wei State. As for the anecdote that the Fengling 风 陵was the mausoleum of Nüwa, it belongs to the typical forged“ancient history”, and the inferences based on this were all unbelievable.%秦“封陵津印”，为新公布的秦代津渡用印，与黄河著名津渡风陵渡颇有关联。关于风陵渡之名，戴延之《西征记》云有风后女娲之墓，故称“风陵”，然此本是晋以后附会的说法，不足为信。“封陵津印”之发现，则可证实秦时已有封陵津。《史记·秦本纪》、睡虎地秦墓竹简《编年纪》均载封陵，为魏国故地。而文献所载封陵与风陵渡位置，大致重合。又因“风”、“封”二字均属帮纽，古音可通，《宋书》载“封陵堆”，《魏书》作“风陵堆”，可证封陵、风陵至中古时期本可通假，故二地虽属异名，实本当一处。今以“封陵津印”为新证，则风陵津其名的真正来源，当出自至少在秦时已有的封陵津，远承魏国之封陵故名。而风陵为女娲之陵的说法，则本属典型之层累古史，由是推出的关于女娲墓的种种考证，皆不足为据。
