In 2007, ASME Ⅷ-2 Alternative Rules , Rules for Construction of Pressare Vessels provided Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) method as an alternative. The fundamental concept and theory background of LRFD method were introduced, including differences between ASD and LRFD method. Finally, development trends of ASD and LRFD method were discussed.
