The general area investigated by Lin and Murphy was thematic relations used for classification in adults’ category construction. The present study aims to discover whether thematic categorization could be found in American adult college students and whether thematic groupings have significant conceptual content. Most of the previous studies focus on children’s classification, while the current study explores that of adults’. That is the significance of the current study.
