With the aging population as well as the rapid development of transportation in China,intertrochanteric fractures are increasingly common, and surgery is the primary treatment at present due to its relatively high morbility and mortality. Internal fixation and artificial joint replacement are mostly often adopted in the surgery,and the internal fixation system can be further divided into intramedullary and extramedullary. Nevertheless, different internal fixation systems have different advantages and disadvantages and indications.
