The ionic species in SnCl-2-1-butylpytidinium chloride (BPC) ambient temperature molten salt electrolytes were investigated by using the computer simulation method. It was found that the Sn electrode potential was changed suddenly at 50.0% mole fraction SnCl-2. The major ionic specie in the 33.3%SnCl-2 melt is SnCl+--3 and that in the 66.6% SnCl-2 melt is Sn-2Cl+--5. Both SnCl+--3 and Sn-2Cl+--5 existed in the 50.0%SnCl-2 melt.
