A research project was conducted to manufacture eco-cement for sustainable development using cement kiln dust(CKD) and granular blast furnace slag(GBFS). In the project, the burning process and mineral compositions of CKD clinker were investigated. Different mineralizers such as CaSO4 and CaF2, sulfur and alkali content were considered. The strength of CKD and GBFS eco-cement were evaluated. The results indicate the CKD clinker can not only form ordinary cement clinker minerals such as C3S, C2S and C4AF, but also form such high-reactive minerals as C4A3S and C 11 A7·CaF2. The CKD and GBFS eco-cement will have the similar strength to the Portland cement grade 32.5 when blend proportion is properly applied.
