New type of urbanization is the leading in China′s rural community construction, rural community con-struction is the key of urban and rural development. Rural community construction and new urbanization construction supplement each other, promote each other. A new type of rural community construction in urbanization has the follow-ing functions:promoting industrialization informatization, urbanization, agricultural modernization, accelerating the pro-cess of new countryside construction, implementing and maintaining the rights and interests of farmers, broadening em-ployment channels and promoting social harmony.%新型城镇化是引领中国农村社区建设的重要引擎，农村社区建设是统筹城乡发展的重要抓手。农村社区建设与新型城镇化建设之间是相辅相成、相互促进，新型城镇化进程中农村社区建设具有如下功能：农村社区建设有助于推进工业化、信息化、城镇化、农业现代化同步发展，农村社区建设有助于加速新农村建设的进程，农村社区建设有助于实现和维护农民的切身权益，农村社区建设有助于拓宽就业渠道促进社会和谐。
