One hundred and twenty-three lumbosacral radiculography in 67 patients, with age range from 15 to 60 years, have been performed during 1984-1986. In this paper, the anatomical concept of the lumbosacral (L4, 5 and S1) nerve root canal and the technique of radiculography are reported. Basing on our results. we suggest different pathologic images of the nerve root canal. The indication and failing causes in performing radiculography are discussed. We believe that nerve root block would be of great diagnostic and therapeutic value in cases of lumbago and sciatica.
