2014年11月12日上午，Wolfgang Kettefic自汪劲松校长手中接受西北工业大学荣誉教授称号。2001年诺贝尔物理奖获奖者共有三人：美国的Eric Cornell，德国的Wolfgang Keueric，美国的CarlE．Wie—man。三位获奖者的成就，按照2010年Time Almanac第94页是：achievement of Bose-Einstein condensation in dilute gases of alkali atoms：early fundamental studies of the properties of the condensates。
