Objective To investigate the change of vascular endothelial growth factor in the brains of rats with permanently bilateral common carotid artery ligation. Methods Permanently bilateral common carotid artery ligation model was reproduced in 6 randomly grouped rats as operative group. Six rats used in pseudo-operative group. Their abilities of learning and memory were tested in two sessions in Morris Water Maze, and vascular endothelial growth factor of was measured on day 1,3,7,14,21,and 30 after operation. Results The capabilities of learning and memory were decreased significantly in operative group than that in pseudo-operative group. The serum vascular endothelial growth factor increased significantly in operative group than that in pseudo-operative group on day 1,3,7,14,21. On day 30,the serum vascular endothelial growth factor decreased in operative group than that in pseudo - operative group. Conclusions Permanently bilateral common carotid artery ligation can produce reliable cerebral ischemia animal model. The rat serum vascular endothelial growth factor was increased in early phase of brain ischemia and decreased after 30 days.%目的 制作永久性双侧颈总动脉结扎大鼠模型,研究假手术组、手术组术后1,3,7,14,21,30 d大鼠血清内皮生长因子的变化.方法 制作永久性双侧颈总动脉结扎大鼠模型,随机取手术组6只.另外,取假手术组6只.模型制作后1,3,7,14,21,30 d,观察大鼠血清内皮生长因子,30 d后Morris水迷宫定位航行试验和空间探索试验来检测大鼠的学习记忆能力.结果 手术组大鼠学习记忆能力较假手术组明显下降,手术组大鼠血清内皮生长因子1,3,7,14,21d较假手术组明显升高,30 d血清内皮生长因子下降.结论 永久性双侧颈总动脉结扎可造成稳定的脑缺血,早期可使血清内皮生长因子升高,30 d后血清内皮生长因子下降.
