The 80 fables of Song Lian are flexible in structure, rich in expression, exquisite in language, which constitute his specific narrative and argumentative writing skills. His achievements are due to his inherentence and innovation to the art of fables of The pre Qin dynasty and the Tang and Song dynasties. His fables also excert great influence to the development of the fables of the early Ming dynasty and the emergence of the satiric essays in the middle and late Ming dynasty.
