Ⅰ.Introduction: F.Scott Fitzgerald is one of the great modern American movelists. One of hos representative works is 'The Great Gatsby'.The main theme of'The Great Gatsby'....representation of the contradictions and finally the corruption of the American dream. The plot of this novel can be summed up in a few words. In 1922 Nick Carraway rents a house on Long Island. Nearby live his cousin Daisy and her rich husband Tom Buchanan,whose current mistress is Myrtle Wilson. Next door to Nick in an enormous mansion lives, Jay Garsby, rich too but rootless and mysterious. While visiting the Buchanans,
