Ulcerative colitis ( Ulcerative Colitis, UC) is a chronic intestinal inflammatory disease.However, the etiology of UC is still unknown.Now, it is reported that the pathogenesis of UC is mainly related to immune abnormalities, genetic, infection, mucosal barri-er and so on.Numerous studies show that there is an important relationship between cytokines and with UC.The main proinflammatory cytokines associated with UC are IL-1, IL-2, IL-6, IL-8,IL-1βand tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α).Then, the main anti-inflammatory cytokines are IL-4, IL-10, IL-13 and so on.Currently, western medicine have some shortcomings ,such as adverse reactions, high recurrence rate, and also it is difficult for long-erm use.But traditional Chinese medicine based on syndrome differen-tiation give us a new way to treat UC with few side effects.In recent years, it also makes some progress in molecular biology and immu-nology towards the treatment of UC.Research is found that Baitouweng decoction, Huangqin decoction, Sini decoction ebony pills and Shenlingbaishu decoction can reduce proinflammatory cytokines levels ( IL-2、IL-6、IL-8、TNF-α、IL-1β) and increase anti-in-flammatory cytokine levels ( IL-4、IL-10、IL-13) in UC rat serum or Colon tissues.This article is going to conclude the progress in the past 5 years about the TCM differentiation types towards the cytokines in experimental researches.%溃疡性结肠炎（ Ulcerative Colitis，UC）是一种病因尚不明确的慢性肠道炎性疾病，目前认为UC的发病主要涉及免疫异常、遗传、感染、黏膜屏障等因素。大量研究表明细胞因子与UC的发病有重要的关系，与UC相关的主要促炎细胞因子有IL－1、IL－2、IL－6、IL－8、IL－1β和肿瘤坏死因子（ TNF－α），而主要的抗炎细胞因子有IL－4、IL－10、IL－13等。目前所知的西药存在不良反应多、复发率高、难于长期服用等缺点，而中医辨证论治治疗UC疗效好，副作用少。近年来，中医药治疗UC的分子生物学和免疫学研究也取得了一定进展，研究发现白头翁汤、黄芩汤、四逆汤、乌梅丸、参苓白术散等能够降低UC大鼠血清或结肠组织中促炎细胞因子IL－2、IL－6、IL－8、TNF－α、IL－1β含量，升高血清中抗炎细胞因子IL－4、IL－10、IL－13的含量。本文就近5年来UC中医分型的代表方剂在细胞因子的实验研究中所取得的进展进行了总结。
