魁星神作为重要的科举神祇,产生于宋朝,科举制的盛行是其产生的根本原因。文章从＂魁＂、＂奎＂二字字义发展演变入手,对这一崇拜现象的产生源流及原因进行细致梳理。通过研究可知,科举魁星崇拜完全由＂魁＂之字义与科举考试相关联这一意涵发展而来,而不与＂奎宿＂信仰相关。明清两代可见将＂魁星楼＂写作＂奎星楼＂者,二字开始混用,但＂奎宿＂信仰只于这一时期对魁星崇拜进行简单的介入与补充,而并未参与其萌芽与产生。%Since the Song Dynasty, Kui Xing was regarded as an asylum seeker for the imperial examination. This paper tries to analyze the origin and cause of this worship from the meaning of two words＂魁＂ and ＂奎＂. It shows that Kui Xing worshiping derived from the connotation of ＂魁＂ in stead of ＂奎＂. In Ming and Qing dynasties, ＂魁＂ was replaced as ＂奎＂. However, the influence of Kui Su worship was very limited, which was not significant for the birth of Kui Xing worship.
