中国学生英语修辞意识调查--以“句子片段”的使用为例

以“句子片段”——一种不含修辞格的修辞形式——在中国学生英语写作中的使用考察为例，本文旨在调查中国学生的英语修辞意识。通过对语料的语义类型和语料发生的语境进行分析、对语料发生者进行问卷调查和面谈以及后续修辞问卷调查，解决三个问题：中国学生的“句子片段”是否具有潜在的修辞效果？如果有，学生使用修辞的意识程度如何？学生对修辞的认知如何？结果表明：中国学生所使用的“句子片段”具有一定的修辞潜能；他们的修辞意识普遍低下；因为他们普遍把修辞定位为有修辞格的语言形式，忽略了一般语言形式或者偏离形式在特定语境下的修辞作用，影响了他们有意识地使用各种修辞手段达到修辞目的。%Based on an investigation of Chinese students’English us of sentence fragments, a type of rhetorical form without any figure of speech, the survey, via questionnaire and interview, attempts to answer three questions:Are Chinese students’sentence fragments potentially rhetorical? If the answer is“yes”, what is the degree of their con-sciousness to apply these potential rhetorical resources? And then what is their cognition about“rhetoric”? The find-ings are Chinese students’sentence fragments are potentially rhetorical;but their rhetorical consciousness is unsat-isfactory; the reason is that rhetoric seems to them only those expressions of figures of speech, which affects their communicative forces for their negligence of many other rhetorical resources.
