质疑苏贾“第三空间”理论的合法性

摘要

Edward W. Soja ’ s Third Space Theory tries to get rid of the historical determinism by the geography of the critical theory, and activate Marx’ s critique of modernity, but he goes too far in the direction of space. In the determination of the meaning, historical materialism is reconstructed with only one battle cry of radicalization. Once the theory premise, the core concept, is marginally given a ground cleaning, the modern radical theory can find its own weakness in critical function and political commitment.%苏贾的第三空间理论试图通过批判理论的地理学化和再度激进化，摆脱历史决定论，激活马克思主义对现代性的批判，但是他在空间转向的道路上走得太远。在确定的意义上，只是通过一个战斗口号的激进化，重构了历史唯物主义。一旦对该理论的前提、核心概念———边缘性进行一次地基清理，就能发现这一后现代激进理论所承载的批判功能和兑现政治承诺能力的孱弱。
