挥之不去的“牢笼”——弗吉尼亚·伍尔夫作品中的“房间”意象研究

英国著名女作家弗吉尼亚·伍尔夫似乎对＂房间＂有种特殊的情怀,在她创作的作品中,有两部就是以房间命名的,它们分别是《一间自己的屋》和《雅各的房间》。阅读她的小说,有时给人一种压抑的感觉,小说中的女主人公似乎都象牢房的奴隶,笼中的小鸟,在自己狭小的天地中枯燥无奇地终老一生。＂房间＂在作者眼里很多时候就是一间约束妇女自由的＂牢笼＂。%English famous female writer,Virginia Woolf,seems to harbor a special feeling to "house/room".Among her works,two was named with "room",namely,A Room of One's Own and Jacob's Room.While reading her works,the readers often sense a melancholy tone,for the heroines in her works are like the slaves in the prison or the birds in the cages,living a dull and boring life all the time.In fact,Virginia Woolf tends to see the "house/room" as women's prison/cage that imprisons them.
