袁世凯与棉纺织业的筹办

摘要

At the beginning of twentieth century, due to the stimulation of Qing government＇s issuing the imperial edict of ad- monishing foot binding as well as the booming of Bourgeois democratic thought, the ideological thought of giving up bound feet rose again and showed an unprecedented upsurge tendency. With ＂the doctrine of innate rights of man＂ as their ideological weapon, the advanced elements at that time made in-depth discussions on the reasons of foot binding popularity, the necessity and urgency of opposing foot binding, as well as the means and measures of admonishing foot binding, which formed influential ethos. As a major composing component in the overall ethos of modern times, the ideological thought of giving up bound feet at the beginning of the ＇.wentieth century was a historical inevitability, and held an undeniable historical status. But it also showed its inevitable limitations in some aspects.%袁世凯赞成张謇的主张,认为实业救国,应以铁业、纱业为先。铁业困难,自然又以纱业为先了。袁世凯曾举荐著名实业家杨宗濂筹办河北地区的棉纺织业。并推荐周学熙督办。又请张謇为工商部总长,大力付诸实施。先后创办了华新纺织公司及其天津厂、唐山厂、青岛厂、卫辉厂,推动了全国棉纺织业的大力发展,在实业救国方面,作出了显赫的贡献。
