As a unique form in Japanese novels, private novel was born under a specific Japanese social envi- ronment, so it holds an important position in Japanese literary history. It is featured by the description of the writers＇ private life and experiences, so it consists the key modern literary tradition of Japan. Like many of the Japanese poems, diaries and essays in ancient literary history, private novel highlights the truth.%日本的私小说产生于日本特定的社会背景,作为日本特有的小说样式,其在日本文学史上占有重要的地位。文章在阐述私小说及其特点的基础上,重点分析了日本私小说的历史起源及文学体现,重点讨论了私小说的＂真实性＂。
