Deng Xiaoping' s theory of socialist policing with Chinese characteristics is an important part of the theory of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Its basic contents are as follows : in the field of public security work, something must be done to emancipate the mind and seek truth from facts in order to properly handle historical issues with scientific attitudes; efforts must be made to ensure political and social stability and defend the construction of socialist modernization; various public security work must be guided with democracy legal system. Science and technology are primary productive forces, therefore strengthening policing with sci- tech must be adhered to, the training and education of talented personnel must be enhanced, bold explorations must be made and the reform and opening up be sticked to in order to adapt to the changing law and order situation.
