Contemporary Chinese cultural formation is moving towards diversification and fine arts towards the course of recognition and recombination. The changing ideas and expressions make traditional Chinese meticulous painting seek coexistence with new creative space and reflect upon questions as how to keep the nature of the realistic painting while adapting the aesthetics of cotempo rary art and accurately expressing the original meaning of the artist. No doubt that such questions should challenge the new meticulous painting while pointing to a new development: breaking through the limitation of materials and traditional bondages, mixing Chinese and western aesthetic cultures, tradition backing-up creation, and highlighting the expression of ideas. Contemporary artists have taken"ideas"as the major expression of art creation. And resorting to this, the new Chines meticulous painting concerns about the theme of contemporary existence and the form of humanistic reflection.
